To save (a female victim) or not to save?

Studies in the US have shown that women who suffer a cardiac arrest in public were less likely to receive CPR as compared to me, hence reducing the survival rates for women. The main concern is the fear of being sued for sexual harassment which resulted in the responders being hesitant to help the female victim with chest compressions.

However, if we do not step up doing CPR or help the patient, the chances of survival will decrease over time without the CPR intervention. So step up and DARE to save a heart.

Remember when you dial 995, the 995 specialist is always on the line to assist you until the ambulance arrives.

SCDF-Grab joint partnership to equipped 50 private-hire vehicles with AEDs

Started in 2015, the “AED-on-Wheels” programme is an ongoing effort by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to have more trained first responders on the roads.

On 28th January 2021, Grab came on board and will equip 50 Grab vehicles with fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and Automated external defibrillators (AEDs). To date, more than 60 Grab drivers have been trained by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on how to perform CPR, basic first aid skills, and the use of fire extinguishers and the AED. When cardiac arrests are being reported and the drivers are within a 1.5km radius of the location, the drivers will be alerted via the SCDF’s myResponder app to respond to the cases and perform CPR and use the AED before medical help arrives. Thank you Grab for being on board to help save a life!
