Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

The DARE Team wishes you and your family a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Let’s Begin At The Very Beginning – The importance of the DARE Programme.

In the next two weeks, we will be sharing our journey of the DARE APP.

For many years, many cardiac arrest victims that arrived at the Emergency Department fared poorly due to prolonged downtime which is the time between the collapse and someone starting CPR or use an AED. The prolonged downtime resulted in death or very poor neurological outcomes for survivors.

Many critical care specialists felt the same as well. One of them, Professor Marcus Ong felt so strongly about it that he asked Dr Jade Kua to helm a programme called DARE. Under his expert guidance and support of a multi-ministry team, the DARE team focused on educating bystanders on how to perform CPR and use an AED in the community, school, and work setting.

Stay tuned in our next post where we will share with you when the DARE APP first started.

Why Mindfulness and CPR?

It is especially daunting when we see someone collapsed. While we are being trained in CPR, taking that step forward to help save a life is what most of us struggle with.
